• Summary of Research you found including the local effects on the economy and infrastructure (specific facts need to be included)
• 1 Image
• Link or video to news story about the disaster 

2. When you are done you are to add some features to your blog.

• Complete the Blog list using 5 other student blogs (they can be found on the Class Blog)
• Add an image of the country you researched in the first week.

3. When most people are done with the Natural Disaster slide go to two other student slides 

• Make a new blog post about what you learned.

• Infrastructure effects

Description: Research a natural disaster that occurred internationally and describe the economic effect it had on the country/city.

Research Topics:

Earthquakes, typhoons, hurricanes, volcanoes, landslides, tsunamis, cyclones

Top 5 Natural Disasters since 2000

1. Kashmir Earthquake (2005)
2. Indian Ocean EarthQuake and Tsunami (2004)
3. Haiti Earthquake (2010)
4. Cyclone Nargis (2008)
5. Sichuan Earthquake (2008)

Required Elements:

1. References

2. Economic effects on:

• local economy
• local businesses specifically
• infrastructure
• scarcity of resources
• effects beyond the local disaster area
• where they are now after the disaster brief description of the event including date and location
• 2 images depicting the effect of the disaster
